Google Earth Kmz Files

With the popularity of Google Earth on the rise people are beginning to exchange KMZ files for all sorts of purposes.

Since these are essentially nothing but gzipped XML (text) files it would seem harmless to permit their posting on TV.

Any possibility of adding this file type to those we can upload?

We're limited to what the Invision software will handle. There's a major upgrade due out in mid January. Maybe it will be added in, but I haven't seen the specs from the new version yet.

If it will not be possible to do here then this is an extract from Google help:

"You want to share the saved data with other Google Earth users.

You can email any placemark, shape, or folder to another Google Earth user from within the Google Earth application, but you can also email any KMZ file located on your computer to a Google Earth user. In addition, you can post a KMZ file to the Keyhole BBS where other Google Earth users can view the information, or you can serve the file on your own web server or from any network location. "

An idea would be a "Thailand Google Earth Forum" where members can post their maps and files....

What do you think?

Good idea. I'm thinking of building one up of Chiangmai like Buadhai did for Korat. Perhaps some collaboration of members in each area to build a detailed one up.
