Incorrect Visa Stamp

Featured Replies

Hello All.

I would greatly appreciate some advice on this

Having left Thailand at the end of April to go to Malaysia, I returned to Thailnad after 3 days.

I once had a education visa, but this expired September 2011. The immigration officer stamped my passport for 3 months entry rather than the 30 days it should have been, I think he must have mistakenly thought I have a valid education Visa as he has stamped it "NON.ED"/ Although I have a flight booked for the end of this month, I would happily stay in Thailand for a further 2 months.

To make the situation even more confusing the officer did not stamp the departure card (leaving card) with a date.

Furher to this when travelling into Thailand I was using an Emergency passport as my old passport (which I have on me, and showed also to immigration officer) had ran out of pages. My new British Passport has been delivered to my house in Phuket.

Thoughts and advice would be hugely appreciated.

Sincere thanks.

Usually you just go back to the same officer straight away so he can rectify it.

In Bangkok they have a desk at the main immo office that just deal with the wrong stamps, but as you probably are not there now, i would go to the usual office of your local area to deal with it....asap wink.png

I suggest you go to a nearby immigration office and get the stamp problem sorted out. How did you make your trip to Malaysia? If by land you would only of gotten 15 days. 30 by air.

I travelled by air.

Thanks

Showing two passports on entry the officer expected it was because of an active visa in other passport and accepted it without close exam it seems. It is likely to be found in error on exit so any stay longer than the normal visa exempt 30 days is at your own risk (the error will be yours if you overstay).
