hi now that the bridge is open is it no longer possible for farang to cross by ferry from nakhon phanom city center? this would be a bit easier than traveling an hour and half to the bridge. thanks a bunch.

will i need to have a photo for the lao on arrival visa application? what about the thai visa on arrival when i cross back over?

Bridge is the only option now for those traveling without a Lao visa.

Yes you will need photo for the Lao visa on entry. Nothing is needed for entry back into Thailand other than your passport (it is a visa exempt entry not VOA). If you don't have a visa you will get a 15 day permit to stay,
