Is it easy to find visa agents in Savannakhet who you can just hand the documents to and let them do the rest? How much do they charge? I know it's easy to do it yourself but I want to avoid queueing. I'm in two minds about using the Savan Vegas visa run service or travelling independently but using the services of a local agent. If a hotel in Savannakhet offers the service, that would be ideal.

As far as I know there are no agents in Savannakhet.

There is no standing in line. You take a number and can have a seat while waiting for your number to be called.

Actually I expect lines are getting longer, as they did several years ago, when they were the to-go place for visas.

Across the street from the Thai Consulate is a small shop that wiil do all the paperwork, make passport photos, and photo copies for you for a nominal fee. I paid 150 baht in January. After that I walked across the street, turned in my paperwork, got my number and I was out in less than 10 minutes.

It's tempting. You never have to set foot in the consulate if you use them from the start. Do they have Texas Hold 'Em or is it the usual player against house games?
