I currently have a simple JVC car stereo that takes CDs with mp3 and wma. Believe I paid around 3,500 for it 6 years ago.

I'd like a similar one that has an iPhone slot. Any suggestions for one that is available in Thailand (Chiang Mai)?

I know about FM transmitters, but would prefer a stereo with direct connection.

    Paid 6,000 for mine... it was the cheapest unit with dedicated iPod / iPhone connector. That was years ago so they should be cheaper by now, it's an Alpine and I think you had to buy the iPod connector extra which is why it ended up not so cheap.

    Just go to the nearest car stereo shop and let them sort you out...
