Bret
I’m trying to decide whether to go to Thailand, Philippines, Viet Nam, or Puerto Vallarta, MX. I want to live 4 months in the states and 8 months in one of these countries. I’m 58 and have a retirement income of about $2,500 US per month. I ‘ve been talking to very nice ladies in each country. Here’s the way I see it: The women are similar in each country. PI women speak English, are Christian, and willing to live in the US. Thailand is a cleaner, safer country with very nice people, and cheap medical care. I’ve heard great things about Thailand, and am looking at Korat or Udon Thani. Viet Nam is hip and more Western, but a little more expensive. Puerto Vallarta is more expensive, but closer to home. Mexican women are very nice, but crime is higher in Mexico. My first choice would be New Zealand, but there are few women there. And I don’t think I could afford to live as well there. Any comments are much appreciated. I never even heard of Sardinia, but I did a few searches and it looks fabulous. I'll look into it further. Bret (MBTI, INTJ)

cdnvic
My first choice would be New Zealand, but there are few women there. And I don’t think I could afford to live as well there. Any comments are much appreciated. If you get out of Auckland and head up north to the Bay of Islands, or slightly north of them you'll find it quite cheap and affordable with some of the best fishing in the world. There are no shortage of Thai women there either as NZ's Thai community seems to like it up there. My wife and I lived near there and there was always other Thais around. If it's still to tight money-wise I'd go to Thailand, but rural NZ is probably alot cheaper than you think. cv
Bret
Viet Nam is hip and more Western, Why would you care? your 58! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I keep forgetting I'm that old. But I'm younger than I'm going to be... I included Viet Nam because I have an old fraternity brother who has lived all over the region; Korea, Beijing, Kazakstan, Mongolia, VN, etc. He says the girls of VN are excellent and portable (meaning you can take them anywhere and they fit in). The woman I'm talking to in VN is a 45 year old executive who is widowed, dependable, and insistent on taking care of me. I can't shake her. I study personalities and psychology and know her type well. I gave her the tests. The downside is her type can be boring, non-intuitive, not playfully sensual, and prone to fear. I'm not sure if a guy can live with that without losing interest.

I didn't know that. 2,500/mo = about 5,000 NZ money. That might be enough to survive in the outlying areas. I spent years as a professional flyfisherman, and of course NZ is legendary. That would be paradise for me. Now I just need to find a woman who is a native so I can get citizenship there. The other possibility is to convince one of my Thai or PI nurses to live in that area. Registered nurses can get citizenship almost anywhere. Do you know of any websites or single-sites that apply to that region?

Wisconsin isn't much better. Hard to tell the women from the cows. http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=534515 I want to get out of this crazy place and get to Thailand. Yes there are other factors; ie crime, language, healthcare, etc. -I didn't mean to imply I am "hip". That was a description used by some friends. And yes they did say Ho Chi Minh City was a very nice, prosperous place. -Please advise me on differences between MX, Thai, VN, and PI women. I want to make a decision that is beneficial to them as well as me. I'm not looking for bar girls or parties. I'm just looking for one emotionally healthy potential partner. I've been talking to two in Northern Thailand that seem to fit the bill. -I know nothing about the women of NZ. Except that I've looked for them on the Internet for years, and have found precious few. I'm just looking for a nice place to live based on the money I've got to work with. Thailand and NZ are at the top of my list, but I'll be doing a more extensive spreadsheet.

Actually I would be more than happy with a good selection of 40 to 55 year old women. After a month in bed, I want someone to carry on a conversation and plan a life with. That's the age range of women I'm talking to in Thailand, and they are well, more responsible and mature. If I could find the same in NZ that would be great. snoophound
Well, thats different....and somewhat unusual on this forum. You can live well in NZ on 900 nzd a week if thats your Number one choice. Plenty of nice women in that age bracket....A lot of successful chinese gals in their forties looking for nice guys too. Nice lifestyle and weather in the north....Paihia,Kerikeri. Auckland is great as is Tauranga and Mt Maunganui. Or the south island queenstown in beautiful but getting expensive...in the main due to a LOT of Americans moving in down there. Guess it depends what you are in to recreation wise. Disclosure I am a kiwi. You could live Reas well in NZ on 2500 usd a mth.But if you want to get laid by nubile 25 year olds forget it at your age. Rent, look, dont committ, you can afford to spend three mths in each place and then decide. Dont lock in straight away. Seriously...if you want to buy Thailand is the place, anyones bet if you get your money back, climate could change quickly.
