Directions To Pet Shops Near Kampaeng

Featured Replies

Need help finding the pet shops near Kampaeng.... Supposedly there is a soi filled with them. But when I took the MRT there, I saw the food co op and only found Manoon's across the major road.

Any help folks... thanks so much...

You are looking for JJ (Jatujack or Chatuchak) market. When you get off the MRT at Kampang Phet (spell), use the exit on the opposite road to the market. When you surface, make your way to the main road (about 20 m) and you will see the co-op you mentioned across the road on your left hand side. Turn right and aim towards JJ Mall, maybe half to 1 Km away from the MRT. Once you get to JJ Mall, turn right, follow the road to the corner and turn left, and you will find a gateway along there on the right hand side. Now you are in the market and all around you will see birds, dogs, cats, fowl and tropical and fresh water fish.

I would hardly call it a Soi as it is a large sprawling area.

Good luck, but be wary of livestock there......many bad stories, about the place but I still enjoy a wander whenever I get the chance.

No, not JJ, I know JJ. Quoted from another ThaiVisa Post

"If you take the MRT (subway) to the Kampaeng Phet exit and go out on the exit labeled "Farmers Co-op". Behind the GIANT Farmers Co-op fresh market there is a soi filled with pet shops.

They sell all manner of pet supplies, pet foods, medications, grooming stuff and pet accessories etc. While I didn't specifically see leather leads up there this weekend, they do have various lengths of nylon ones. "

We found Manoon's across the street but nothing else...

Hi KosraeTV,

I must admit, I had forgotten about the Soi you are referring to. It WAS a thriving area but is now under development, but you will have seen that already. I assume you walked past the building work on the far left side at the rear of the market because I recall maybe 6 months ago having to negotiate my way through workings to find what was left of the place. There were still quite a few shops as described, but I guess that the renovation has now finally forced the remaining shops to close. Shame, it was always a good wander.

Sorry I couldn't have been more help.

Ah shoot... was hoping to do one stop shopping... I guess I'll just have to go to the shop across from Thonglor Pet Hosptial and JJ market. Anything else you know near the BTS or MRT stops? I'm not going out towards Seacon area, if I can't find what I want I"ll just order on line and deliver it to home but I prefer to actually hold / see / look at what I'm buying before just ordering on line.

Thanks mate...
