aerialone
Would anyone know if there is a good source for carbon fiber tripod and head in Bangkok, or is it better to buy one in the US before I leave?
hughden
Check with Fotofile, they carry a large range of everything photographic. They have two shops in the MBK shopping centre in Bangkok. As an example, the have the Manfroto 441 Carbon tripod at 18,554 baht. www.fotofile.net
Jon Lucida
They have a good range of professional support there. More good news if you are doing a professional shoot big or small in Bangkok there are always rental houses at a good rate. Whenever I am there doing shoot I would rent what I need from Gear Head. xty
Would anyone know if there is a good source for carbon fiber tripod and head in Bangkok, or is it better to buy one in the US before I leave? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you can buy and carry, better to buy in US. The price might be cheaper and you have plenty of choices. I wish I could go to US to buy some accessories (flash, Cokin filters). Maybe someone is willing to buy and bring for me from US, I'd pay here in Bangkok.
Nordlys
Thank you for the lead. Maybe I will get lucky and they will have a used one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't think they have any used tripod there. Foto Thailand (3rd floor of MBK) used to have good line-up of Gitzo tripods including carbon-fiber ones (but as heavy as aluminum tripod of other makes) but they don't seem to sell Gitzo anymore. Fotofile/Foto Thailand doesn't have good selection of tripod/monopod compared to other supplies they have. Does anybody know if/where I can find Velbon Carbon-fiber tripod in Bangkok?
