May 22, 201214 yr Friend went to Nonthaburi Immigration to do 90 Day Reporting, but could not.. They were on a TR Visa and changed to yearly extensions, at the time they were told tey could only do this at the Bangkok Office, but it would appear after getting this extension they can only do 90 Day Reporting at the Office they were issued the extension ? Myself on ED Visa but changing back to yearly extension in a few months, yes change of type can be done only at the main Office, but would be a pain to have to go there for 90 Day Reporting Do they still do 'By Post' ? May 22, 201214 yr You report to the office for the area where you are officially residing. People needing to go to BKK for a change of visa only make 90 day reports to BKK if they live in BKK. If they live somewheree esle, they report to that office. Yes, you can report by mail, only a few offices don't accept this.
May 22, 201214 yr Suspect you are confusing extensions and conversion to non immigrant visa to allow extensions? You always obtain extensions of stay and do 90 day reporting in the assigned immigration office for your province location. You do the conversion there if thay allow or visit Bangkok for that process. But after getting the 90 day visa entry you would return to home immigration for extensions and 90 day reporting.
May 22, 201214 yr Author Just spoke to them, they live in the next Village, we live 37km west of Nonthaburi.......... Still not 100% sure what the old boy has done....... For the past few years he has been on yearly extensions, no idea why but he had to go to Pattaya by Taxi every year to do this...... ? 90 day reporting he did by post. Anyway he had to return to UK while there the Retirement extension ran out, so it appears he got a VOA when he returned, so then had to go to BKK Immigration for conversion to non immigrant visa to allow the extension, Yesterday they went to do the 90 day reporting and was told he had to do it at BKK.Office.? He is well in his 80 and gets mixed a lot, but lived here for 15 years, his younger Thai wife has no idea with Visa business, even after going with him for so many years to Immigration.
May 22, 201214 yr If he has not extended yet he should be eligible to apply as he can do during last 30 days of entry and must be within that period now so have him apply for extension of stay first and then make 90 day address report at the same office.
