Rise in auto theft around Chonburi Province discussed in Police meeting held in Pattaya

PATTAYA:Chonburi Province experiences one of the highest levels of auto theft in Thailand and Police are preparing to reverse this trend as quickly as possible.

On Thursday, Police Colonel Supatee, Deputy Provincial Police Commander led a meeting at Banglamung Police Station attended by senior officers from all over the Province to discuss the current problem and how to fix it. From the start of the year to 15th May, 500 motorbikes, with a combined value of over 20 Million Baht had been stolen and the cases remain unsolved.

Only a very low percentage of these crimes are every solved. The Colonel told his officers that detailed studies into previous cases and how and at what time of day they are stolen,
