Thai Spouse Visa... Just Need Clarification...

Featured Replies

Just got my 1year multiple entry Thai spouse visa..

Just for clarification...

So now I have to report to immigration eve 90days in order to stay in the country?

What happens at the expiration of the visa can I get it renewed in Thailand at the immigration office?

If I leave the country for more than 90 days do I have to inform immigration?.

what happens if I am out of the country during the visa expiration date.. Do I have to start again?.

I know alot of this has been stated before I just need some confirmation.. Would appreciate any help.

Thanks.

The 90 day reports are address reports for people remaining in Thailand more than 90 days. You will need to cross the border every 90 days and get a new permission to stay, so does not apply to you. If out of the country when the visa expires, yes, you start over. If you make an entry just before the visa expiration date, you would still be stamped permited to stay 90 days.

Only if you have 400k in bank 2 months or income of 40k per month can you extend any 90 day stay during the last 30 days with wife to remain in Thailand for one year without leaving (cost 1,900 baht). Without an extension of you you can not stay longer than 90 days so must exit country and return for a new 90 day stay.

As said, you do not report to Immigration you leave the country before the 90 days are up and return to get another 90 days.

This is assuming that you actually do have a Multi Entry Non Imm O Visa

Hi all

I read many postings regarding the non-imm o visa and now I am a bit confused. My wife is Thai and we are actually registering our marriage here in Bangkok.

After that I will apply for a non-imm O multiple entry visa. I have a thai bank account with more funds in then requested since over a half a year.

Do I have to show the bank account every time when reporting to the immigration office if I wish to have another 90 days or do I really have to leave the country every 90 days until I make a extension based on marriage?

Many thansks in advance for any info

Al

If you have a Multi Entry Non imm O Visa you do not visit Immigration .

You leave the country every 90 days and return to get another 90 days.

If you have a 12 month extension you visit Immigration every 90 days.

You only provide evidence of financials when applying for the 12 month extension.

Not every 90 days.

And the extensions will be based on the non-imm O, rigt? I guess now I got it ;-) many thanks for the answer.

Yes - but all you need is a single entry non immigrant O visa and even that can be obtained from Immigration for an extra 2,000 baht once married and you can show the money for later extension of stay if you have several weeks remaining on current permitted to stay. Once you obtain the one year 1,900 baht extension you must have a re-entry permit for any travel/return to keep date alive and if you do not travel must report address to immigration every 90 days using a TM.47 form.

You come to Thailand

1) after 89 days you leave the country and re-enter

2) after 89 days you leave the country and re-enter

3) after 89 days you leave the country and re-enter

4) after 89 days you leave the country and re-enter then place at least 400k in a Thai bank account.

5) after 55 days you apply for a married person extension of stay and show your bank bok with 400k in it, and other papers.

Your 1 year multiple entry Visa lets you stay in Thailand just under 15 months (using it 5 times).
