Making A Thai Passport

Featured Replies

Hi, hope someone can enlightn me as to the procedure for making a thai passport for a thai person.

My GF, last time I was in town (about 3 weeks ago) went to bangkok with me and applied for a passport, paid the fee, showed her ID card.... all good to pick up in a few days.

Anyway now I being told that she has to have her parents ID card and for them to sign a paper or something along these lines....

Is this possibly the case, do they need to show parents ID's and get signatures... mind you she is not a minor and is of 24 years of age.

Anyone made a passport recently and can tell me... ?

Regards. :)

Only a minor does need approval of the parents. A 24 year old does not need her parents to sign for anything.

Mt fiancée recently got hers and it was a very painless procedure....passport photos, Thai ID card, the fee....about a week later it arrived by EMS post.....I even signed for it after supplying the post man with some paper work....

Deleted part of post that was reply to deleted post.

When we married, my Thai wife changed her passport so she had one in her married name, same as her ID card. At Chiang Mai MFA, all she needed was her ID card and an application form, they take the photo. Pay 1000Baht + postage, and the new passport arrived within 5 days.
