Bangkok To Close Saphan Taksin Skytrain Station To Ease Bottleneck

And in completely unrelated news to either the Taksin station issue not the silom line but somewhat related......(given that this is the most recent BTS related thread in the News section);

Finally, finally! News that will bring audible relief to one and all is that the 35 Siemens extra 1 cars will finally arrive in Thailand on 20 August. To expand all current 3 car rolling stock on the Sukhumvit line to 4 car trains.

I'd guess. after a testing period, to start expecting to see 4 car trains on the Sukhumvit line from Oct/Nov?

Is there word on when this closure will happen? Weeks? Months? Years? Any official approximation at all? Thanks.

It won't be months if it happens at all. I'd guess into next year when the 2nd phase of the Bang Wah ext opens but that is purely a guess.

Lots of political jousting on this issue. What and see.
