June 3, 201214 yr This is my closest mall/grocery store and it was supposed to be ready in June. A friend of mine told me yesterday the schedule is now moved to October. Anyone know when the mall is supposed to be open? (Note, I'm asking about Silom Complex not Silom Center across the street with the McDonalds)
June 3, 201214 yr When it closed last December I was told that it would be for 10 months, so October seems about right. For groceries there is Foodland, Villa and TOPS all within walking distance, and its an easy MRT ride to Central at Rama 9.
October 14, 201213 yr I heard December last month from someone with a mild involvement ...... but I hope I'm wrong.
October 14, 201213 yr It's open now, very much a soft opening though with a lot of work still going on. Not sure what shops are open inside. Edit: just seen we may be talking about different places - I'm referring to the big mall right next to Salad Daeng BTS, opposite side of the road to Patpong, Soi Thaniya, etc. Sent from my GT-I9300T using Thaivisa Connect App Edited October 14, 201213 yr by dantilley
October 14, 201213 yr Department store has been open since 2 weeks now. The grand opening is slated for 24th October.
October 14, 201213 yr Tops is open and fully functioning in the basement level. Not much difference from before. Same high prices and poor checkout service??
October 15, 201213 yr yeah I went to the basement of Silom Complex last night...only thing opened was Tops supermarket (and it appears to be exactly the same as before)..the renovation obviously did not include Tops itself... but you can buy food there now.... cant wait to see the rest of the mall, but it obviously wont open in time for Halloween (but Central Department store itself is open).... my guess, the whole mall might open by Christmas
October 18, 201213 yr Central Department Store and Tops are open now. The rest of the centre is supposed to open next week on the 24th. I doubt every shop will be open then, but there's work going on in a lot of them so no doubt quite a few will open. There's a big shiny new Starbucks on the street level (just what Bangkok needs - another Starbucks!) which looks like it could open any day now.
October 18, 201213 yr Sure be interesting to know what exactly will have been done that's worth having had the place closed for almost a year and all the existing (prior) tenants booted out...
