Common Steps To Preemptively Ascertain Adjacent Building Construction

I'm sure the answer lies in just plain legwork and asking the right people the right questions, but just wondering the processes people have had success with here. Personally, i'm interested more in "view blocking" condos being built, but of course open to discuss all types of real estate.

I think that all you can do is assume that if there is an empty plot near your house or condo then at some point some idiot will probably build a house or condo or pig farm or karaoke bar on it, or possibly all four.

I would only buy somewhere where all nearby plots are built on, and even then that doesn't protect from change of use.
