I realize this isn't directly about the Thai language.

I am interested in howing to read Lao relatively well. I can read Thai pretty well, but there is a possibility that I will be in Laos next year.

I have worked through about half of Paiboons "Lao for Beginners," which teaches the differences in pretty basic speech between Thai and Lao, as well as providing an introduction to the Lao alphabet. So far it seems just like an odd-looking version of Thai, with a few changes. Has anyone else used this book? What did you do next for reading practice?

Thanks.
