bangkokburning
ISSUE: Only one device can connect at a time to apt network. Is it possible to connect an old WRT45GS (?) Linksys router into our apartment network? Appears the routers in the halls are also Linksys and very similar - but more concerned if it is even possible? I would then need to disconnect the netbook from the router and use it standalone. Often the connection drops out, even if I can do this will this be an issue? The network is unsecured, obviously I will secure the router - but it will not make the connection secure between the routers. Finally, if I can do this don't I need to set this up at the computer connection and not the Internet connection? Thx much
RandomSand
If you have Windows 7/8, modern hardware and the latest drivers, you could try and make windows create a hosted network where you connect to the existing network and then use the same wireless adapter in your computer to share the connection via a second "virtual" network. link: http://www.makeuseof...router-windows/ Edited June 20, 2012 by RandomSand

bangkokburning
There are many ways (W7/shareware) to piggy back the connection from one machine to another, connection is funky. I don't have access to the other router (physically), thanks for the link though - great explanation, close but not exactly it.
monty
Why can only one device connect to the apt router? Do you have to enter a username/password on a landing page or something? Sent from my GT-S5660 using Thaivisa Connect App
