January 9, 200620 yr hey all, I've got a couple of friends in town and I don't have time to play tour guide the entire time Any suggesions on good package tours... I'd like a reputable company and first hand experience from all you master ThaiVisans out there! Moon
January 9, 200620 yr They all seem to be one and the same to me. The best thing you can do is to teach them how to use the BTS, river ferry and Underground and let them loose on the city. Just have their address written in Thai in case they get lost and need to hop in a taxi to get home.
January 10, 200620 yr hallo, if they'd like to do something a bit different and are up for a bike ride, then we did this tour which was great: http://www.realasia.net/BangkokBike.htm
January 11, 200620 yr if they're up for a walk this is a record of one I did recently near the Democracy Monument a short walk
January 13, 200620 yr The best thing you can do is to teach them how to use the BTS, river ferry and Underground and let them loose on the city. Exactly! Then map out a route such as start in mid sukhumvit, Asoke - Nana. Then Siam Square and MBK. Then more sky trin to Saphan Thaksin. Then boat to Phra Arthit and Khao San road. Then walk down Ratchadamnoen to the klong boat. Take boat to Pratunam. Then walk to Chit Lom BTS and they are free to meet you somewhere for dinner. This is my standard route for friends and if they have half a brain and are slightly adventurous it's easy, fun and interesting.
