What Does An Original Australian Divorce Order Look Like?

Featured Replies

My lawyer sent me my divorce order that he received from the Parramatta Court but it looks like a photocopy to me. It has the divorce order on one side and on the other an affirmation that the divorce has gone through.

I was expecting something a bit more substantial......like coloured official stamps and on thicker paper than normal photocopy paper. I can't imagine the Oz embassy in Bangkok accepting it.

I wrote to my lawyer and he insists that it is the one that the court sent him.

My question is: What does the original look like? Is it printed on thicker paper etc? Has anyone successfully used the photocopy lookalike for marriage purposes at the Australian Embassy?

Thanks

Mine was just a letter with a magistrates red stamp on both sides. The Embassy accepted this with no problems. You have to fill out a stat dec. Copy attached

Ripstanley.....Mine too is a letter with a magistrate's stamp on both sides.....but the stamps are not red but photocopied.

Looks like I need the same two sided letter but with red stamps.

Thanks for the info.

I believe mine has a nice red stamp on it.....

I like red.
