Anyone knows how much it costs in duties & taxes to import beer in Thailand? Thanks.

The Customs duty is 60% plus 7% GST. There are certain trade treaties which lowers the import duty. There are also added factors to determine what the actual cost of the beer. Have a look at the Thai customs site.

I saw somewhere that there is an import duty tax, plus an excise tax, is it correct?

An excise is a tax on goods produced within the country. It does not apply to imported goods.

Dont even think about importing beer into Thailand its almost as much a nightmare as importing a luxury car.

I used to bring in cosmetics but only in small quantities and i had a 'Thai connection' at the mail center.

I know Koreans who got into fist fights with Thai officals at the airport over ....no cosmetic licence ha ha ! pay 100,000 baht now!!....one box of lousy cosmetics.

Forget beer.Some farangs thought they were clever by bringing in brewery kits from Germany,Aust USA in personnal luggage .

Where are they now ???

my drink which in the uk is £12 per case 24x440ml,thailand over 2000bht =£41 plus there's too many doing it.
