I have a pair of bedside lamps which I brought from o/seas and which use the bayonet fitting incandescent filament type globe. I have tried 3 shops to find replacement globes without success. Only a very few of these old style globes appear on the shelves and then they are all of the screw-type fitting. So in this enlightened age I am living in the dark. Can anyone suggest where I might find the bayonet fitting globes - or an adapter. Perhaps they're simply not available at all in LOS. I know I could scour the electrical shops in a quest to find these globes but I am hoping someone's directions might be helpful. Thank you. Cheers. Up on the left hand side you will see a little sell all kind of electrics shop. She has bayonet fitting bulbs. Although if from the UK I noticed they have short bayonet and long bayonet; I'm pretty sure the bayonet ones here are long type. bobl Posted July 6, 2012 Share Posted July 6, 2012 I bought some bulbs without thinking a few months back, and when I got them home was dismayed to find they were BC while my fitting was ES (opposite to your problem). Exchanged them no problem. I think I got them in the big Tesco Lotus on the ring road but wouldn't like to guarantee that... Not withstanding the fact that they actually sell light bulbs. they are probably the busiest electrical shop in Chiangmai.....BC, SBC, ES SES and just about any other configuration of socket/lamp you could think of. They used to have a car park on the vacant lot across the road, a few metres towards Airport. Or maybe that lot is no longer vacant, it's been a while..... These are sold virtually everywhere, in all the big stores, hardware and electrical shops. I doubt if it would make buying the bulbs cheaper. Just yesterday I bought several bayonet style bulbs. 60 and 100 watt; 9 Baht per bulb! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
