playyer
My girlfriend told me today over skype since im not in thai at the moment....What she said was that everybody could get a free lung x ray and they would get 62 bahts too. She went as did most of the village. She says they checked for tuberculosis. She had been told that it was financed by farangs. Sounds good i guess, does anybody know more ? mcgriffith
62 baht? What an odd sum to pay; one would think 50 or 100 would be more practical. Maybe the church in the US budgeted $2 a pop, and they flew with that......
TatarYahoo
I think that might be a research about the prevalence of Pulmonary Tuberculosis in some areas. Usually the screening for TB by the government won't give any money to the participants. The amount of 62 bahts might be from the amount of fund per person minus chest X-ray fee. You should tell her to look for detail in the document. BTW, it doesn't hurt to have a screening chest X-ray, does it? Thai people smoke a lot, therefore, chest x-ray can screen other smoking-related diseases such as COPD, lung cancer.
