webfact
Phuket vendor wins Bt4m in Thai National Lottery Phuket Gazette Thai lottery tickets are typically sold in pairs of two, like these. Phuket vendor Kaewtaa Khan-asa held the fifth winning set with the grand prize number "904050". Photo: Love Krittaya PHUKET: -- A kind-hearted Phuket vendor won a 4 million baht grand prize in the Thai National Lottery draw on Monday. The winner, 35-year-old Kaewtaa Khan-asa, reported the win to Chalong Police yesterday, asking that her possession of winning ticket number, "904050", be recorded in the daily log as evidence. Mrs Kaewtaa, listed as a resident of Ban Doong District in Udon Thani, runs a small vending shop near Rawai's Municipality offices. She said she normally never buys lottery tickets, but on Sunday, the day before the mid-month draw, she was approached by an itinerant ticket vendor who "asked for her support". Thinking little of it, she handed over a 100 baht note and selected a pair of tickets at random, never imagining she actually stood a chance of winning. The following day she was overcome with joy to learn that her two tickets were now worth two million baht each. Asked what she intended to do with the windfall, the ecstatic Mrs Kaewtaa said she was still so excited that she hadn't yet given the matter any thought. horsewell
It seems a common story: someone buys a ticket randomly. Relatives of mine have bought tickets for years with only small wins. A little envious to tell the truth but very happy to hear stories like this. I hope that she can use the money in ways that can have a positive impact on her life.
