aneliane
I am embarking on an alkaline-based diet and to need to test my PH level of blood regularly. Could someone tells me where to find these ? I have been to 4 chemists and they say Mai mee, and added Thai chemists don't sell these. They say science shop might do... Any idea? http://www.indigo.co...aper-5.5-8.html Cheers Edited July 21, 2012 by aneliane

MrRealDeal
I don't really know but you might try other options like swimming pools or hot tub people, resturaunt supply, or hydroponics supply store ? Lots of other options than chemists. Edited July 21, 2012 by MrRealDeal

aneliane
Well unless someone has actually the same diet, yes. But as DaftPunker was suggesting these are just regular science kits. A chemist gave me the name of a student shop near MBK Imperial something I just lost the flipping paper ! meom
(Calm down Aneliane, breath deeply, stress is bad for your alkaline level) Is there actually such a thing as alkaline level in the body and can you change this? As far as I can tell there is a natural PH range within which the body works and if you try to change that range through diet or something the body self regulates back to it’s ideal range. Yes, for example eating too much vitamin C can cause serious problems. Yermanee
MrRealDeal
Vitamin C is water soluble, with dietary excesses not absorbed, and excesses in the blood rapidly excreted in the urine. It exhibits remarkably low toxicity

bangkockney
Swimming pool supplies or a toy shop that sells chemistry kits for kids. Maybe even Central. Worth a call. As an aside, your body and your blood maintain a stable pH that *never changes significantly* no matter what you eat or drink! Further, your digestive system is a closed system - nothing enters the body itself without being processed and filtered first. Thus, the only way to check the body's pH level is by checking your blood. Last, ask any medical practitioner or even med student and they will tell you that it’s impossible and that the blood or body cannot change pH based on what you eat. It just doesn’t work that way. So, I hope you do find the litmus test papers. But, 1. Testing your saliva or urine tells you nothing and 2. Blood pH remains near constant (if it didn't you'd have serious health issues and probably be dead). Good luck
aneliane
Ok just back from my 2 nearest hospitals : Vibharam & Sirindorn : Mai mee So far I have been to 3 regular pharmacies 1 paramedic pharmacy 2 Boots the chemist 2 Watson 2 Hospitals All "mai mee" 4 pharmacies told me pharmacies just don't have them. Vibharam told me there is no chance that I could find them in any hospital because even if they have it they won't sell them, but she pointed me out towards some "big" pharmacies who do paramedical products in Victory Monument. (Although I have been told that previously about paramedical pharmacies) OK , anyone knows a student project shop near MBK at a university/school called "Imperial.." something, I think "Imperial Samwong" The paramedic chemist said they had them, (but that is the paper I lost !) Or any other science university shop ? Cheers A
