Looking for a guide or guidelines for ILR application! The wife's is due in the next 3 months so time to pool all the paperwork together and work through it all.

Only worry is that I am currently out of work though liveing off saveings, so how will that effect the application if still looking for work come app time ? Also have a child together who will be almost 2 come app time.

If her original visa was issued under the old rules then the ILR will be processed under the old rules. You will have to demonstrate your ability to provide adequately for your wife without recourse to additional public funds on top of any you may be entitled to as an individual. Child benefit etc are OK to include. This is a lot lower than the £18600 under the new rules.

Many of us are breathing a sigh of relief that we went through the system under the old rules!

Premium applications in person is quick but expensive for straight forward applications. If there is doubt about your situation financially go for postal as it is significantly cheaper but does involve a wait of up to six months!

Best of luck.

So if the UK Earner whi is married to a thai person and is unlucky and loose their Jobs while their on a spouse visa in the UK,Then your Married partner will be refused a llR If you don't earn the £18500 and is unemployed, and this will be the same if in work and earning less than £18500. .
