Misterwhisper
In other words: a lot of hot air without substance, self-delusion, self-aggrandising, gross overestimation of Thailand's importance, capabilites and abilities. Also known as, using just one word. Hubris. or hubbub.

Bagwan
"This year, TAT will offer three days for foreign buyers to visit medical and spa sites to get a real touch" I wonder if the "spa sites" referred to are on Cowboy, Nana or walking street in Pattaya ? does a "real touch" infer that TAT will ensure the the "therapist" are real Thai ladies and not Katoys ? A guy goes to the Urology department of a local hospital to undergo a check for prostate cancer. He was surprised to find that the doctor was a lady and thought it a strange specialisation for a female. Before the doctor began feeling around for lumps or any irregularities she said , "Don't be concerned about getting an erection during this procedure." He replied that this was highly unlikely. She responded with, "You might not, but I may well do."

Renbe
The only experience I have thus far in Thailand was a full medical check up in Chiang Mai's Bangkok Hospital 3 years ago, including CT scans, MRI scans, colonoscopy, endoscopy, and since I was there anyway a vasectomy. I come from a West European country, and I was very impressed by the combination of professional treatment and friendly attitude, the extremely fast service and ridiculous low prices. Total costs were less than 200K baht, in my home country the bill would have been at least 3 times higher. A few weeks ago I had a dental crown placed over a broken molar, I chose the best quality, porcelain on gold. The whole procedure took 3 visits in a 2 week period and 13K baht. I'll never visit a dentist in Europe again!
meatboy
I'm pretty sure all Thai govt agencies have a Spin the Hub Wheel in their top guy's office. Every few months he spins the wheel which has about a dozen different Hub names on it and where ever the pointer stops that is the Hub XYZ for agency news releases for the next several months. So simple (minded). Can't wait for the day it lands on 'hub of penis reattachment' they already do it at those places called COCKPIT
spidermike007
Do they actually know what hub means? Maybe they are misinformed. Maybe the nations spell checker is wrong. Maybe they mean hut, or hurt, or hum, or...... Yes, hub means Thailand. Since this is not only the center of the universe, but also the center of the world when it comes to business, banking, dance, music, theatre, opera, comedy, television, movies, fine jewelry, fine clothing, and culture in general. The Thais have the deepest grasp of all things important, and the culture is #1 in the world. Nothing else really matters. Nowhere else is more significant. Why should we teach our children english, geography, math, or science, when we are such world leaders?
