Is there an improvement in low and mid power over the previous ninja 250?

Cant say personally as I have not ridden the old.

But I did just see a dyno finally for the 2013

The sheet reads Kawasaki Ninja 250, 2010

but the maker of the pipe assures me it is the 2013 dyno

& he does not know why they wrote 2010

He does also have pics of a green 2013 strapped to the dyno

Looks like they gained 2.67hp & 0.43nm torque

But the top looks choppy so I asked him what else he did & he said nothing.

Stock air filter could be causing the burble on top.

I guess now with this dyno sheet we can easily go find an older dyno

& see if it has any improvements low & mid as they have a stock run too.

The company is Alias No Limits with their Corse Titanium pipe system

full system about 16k. Not a bad looking system although I do not personally

like a system to exit so skyward that you need a plug when parked & worried about rain.

But it seems the one on the Black ninja is mounted with more upsweep than the green

which looks ok in that regard

Could just be photo angles?

Lastly I am hoping to get mine dyno'ed stock & will post the results

Ok this is really odd.

I met a guy today while I was getting some adjustments done by a local Thai guy who is good with Ninjas. This guy (not the local Thai guy mechanic) says he has a new Ninja and pulls out his I-pad to show the pics of it and 'he says' his bike on the dyno he even had a video of it being done. These are the same pics with the same error saying it was the 2010 Ninja. Now I know you live in Chiang Mai and I live in Bkk so we didn't meet the same guy. Maybe your guy is just showing the same pics but it seems a bit of a big coincidence. Accidentally writing the 2010 Ninja is one thing but what about the mileage? 13640km is possible but unlikely for a bike that's only been out for about 2 months. So I would very much doubt this dyno is for the new Ninja.

To answer krs1's question, Kawasaki said that low end and mid range was improved for this bike, and according to my mechanic guy who races both, he says the new model is better.

No the guy that gave me the info is from Bangkok I believe ( as I have never met him )

Their site is aliasshop.net

Is it the same shop you went to?

They may be in business together?

edit: ooops I see now you said a guy at the shop you went to not the mechanic

The guy you met must have been a customer of that alias no limits guys too

Have any of you guys ever tried the clutch plug jumper trick?

On the Dtracker you can jump the connection on the clutch lever and it will unleash a different curve in the ECU.

Wondering if this works on the Ninja 250 too.

Interesting thought

I have seen the info on the Dtracker

This company in Indonesia is close to getting 40hp out of the N250

with a small turbo kit

Torque is up big too

By maintaining the standard compression they are keeping drivability of the bike until the boost hits, it starts to spool around 5000rpm and hit full boost at 9000rpm. Power commander is use to adjust fueling and ignition.

While they say they will target 40hp on the 250 they think they will get 48 on the 300 US model

Will be interesting to see their progress

^

there is currently 250 d tracker for sale in classifieds with a claim of 38 bhp are they the same engines

smile.png

28 would be generous for that single

I think 2013 spec is 24hp @ 9k

These tires are f*&king rubbish!!!

Coasting up to the lights about 10kph, turn slightly to the right while lightly breaking, the road was slightly uneven and the front tire just slips out!!! The bike goes down on it's left in split second, I couldn't believe it. Luckily no damage at all to the bike(thanks to my leg) except the gear shifter was pushed in a bit. Pulled it back out and off I went. (After the help of a friendly Thai walking past to help me pick it up off my leg) New tires going on it tomorrow!!!

Lucky I wore my gloves today as I normally don't. They saved my left hand from a good scraping. Ribs a little sore though.

sorry to hear that. it is good that nothing happened to you and your bike.

how many times my irc s slip out of nothing on mt cbr250 you cannot even believe it. Just a slight turn and pop the front is out of line or rear slide like hell.

These tires are dangerous especially in the morning until they get warm up which takes so long.

Just change them with pirelli corsa2s, good reviews here about them.

Sorry to hear that, glad there's no major damage. I changed the IRC's on my Ninja after a ride through Khao Yai. I started hearing a nasty screeching noise when I was braking for the speed bumps and after 2 or 3 occurrences I realized it was the back wheel locking up. Bearing in mind that I barely touch the back brake when I slow down I decided to swap them out before the same thing happened to the front... Horrible tyres. Last forever apparently.

I thought I'd give them a little test today. I was riding on an empty dual carriage way so I did a semi emergency stop from about 60kph. Terrible!. Back started slipping out almost instantly. If I had to an emergency stop in real life, I wouldn't have stopped in time or I'd be sliding along the floor.

I thought about Michelin Pilot Sporty but apparently they don't make the size of the new 2013 Ninja rear. The shops recommended Michelin Pilot Activ, I forgot to ask the price, but they are more of a touring tyre right? any good?

Also there were the highly recommended Pirelli Diablo Rosso IIs, they wanted 7500B for the pair, which sounded good but still a bit much for me. After all, I've just spent money on buying a new bike, helmet, insurance etc. Like Mania, I thought I could offset the cost by selling them my 'new' IRCs. They almost laughed in my face and said 'leun pai' Too slippery. . . Yeah, don't I know it!

I'll go and see my local Ninja specialist mechanic tomorrow and get his opinion, and there's a good chance he might get me something for my shitty IRCs.

Yes sorry to hear about your slip Mac !

I sold my tires on Baht & Sold

Although my original asking price was higher I was happy to sell

them at all. smile.png

You might also check your pressure as it does seem Thai's like

to pump the tires way up in pressure.

Not to say the IRC's are not crap tires, as they are,

But to be letting go at a slow speed like 10kph you described could

be down to over inflation or something on the road too.

Just something to check while you look for new tires ;)

How much did you get for them?

It wasn't the tire pressure as I had checked them that morning. 28front 32rear. As i said the road went slightly uneven, kinda like a 1 inch drop. If I had been going faster it wouldn't have happened I think.

wow, good price to get rid of IRCS mania, congrats.

pity for the new owner though:lol:

Well he was a cbr250 guy & only used the bike for long touring type rides.

He had actually worn the originals down.

I think for many commuters the tires are probably fine.

It is when you get a bit aggressive they show their inabilities.

Kind of a shame though that the manufacturers like to advertise certain bikes as sporty

yet put these kind of shoes on them wink.png

I offered mine to Showpow for 1000 baht when I switched to Pirellis at their shop and they weren't interested. They said no-one buys a 140k baht bike (as it was then) and then replaces bad tyres with equally bad tyres. Not as many potential buyers for that size tyre in 2008 but I still think you did well to offload them :) Edited by JonnyF

I thought it was about time I posted some pics of my new Ninja. Of the 3 colours available, obviously this is my favourite.

Yes truth be told Kawasaki is & always will be green wink.png

When I ordered mine there was the possibility they could take awhile with green

back ordered of course & taking the longest for delivery as you found out.

So I went red since unless I win the lottery I am not getting that Panigale of my dreams biggrin.png

I like it ok but may at some point go all red if I can decide on something unique.

One guy I saw recently did repaint parts of his & add the special edition stickers like yours.

Not a bad look too

Also check out how he painted the stock exhaust silver shields to mimic the ZX6R 636 all black exhaust

rather nice looking I think

I like what he's done with it, except for the exhaust. I wonder if he painted it or just ordered new panels? The stickers must have been ordered from abroad as there is no red special edition in Thailand.

Actually I asked him & he gave a very detailed answer

He bought the paint & had the parts sprayed & lacquer clear coated

Prices were not bad at all. Like 500 paint & about the same for labor

The most expensive part was the special edition sticker from Kawasaki at 1200 baht

The black on the side is a sticker/wrap the usual 3m brand stuff folks use for wraps now.

I had looked into doing my side panels in wrap but the color was

only close but not perfect so I passed on it. Also price was kind of

high I thought for two side panels. I have thought about asking Kawasaki here

if I can order the panels in red as they have them for the Indonesia model

  • 2 weeks later...

Starting to see some mods with dyno's come thru for the 250

I had posted the Corse Exhaust 16,900 baht full titanium system

one before & the seller said

it was with stock air filter when run & gained 2.63hp

I see some cams starting to come thru from Japan now

8900 baht

Looks like they are getting some decent returns

Dyno states cam + full exhaust but does not mention what was done

ecu wise & I would imagine something would be needed on the fuel map

side.

Interesting to see some things coming though & I will be interested

to see how they do.

camshaft looks good and gives around nearly 10 hp up!

But i think other mods are also involved on the second dyno.

good info mania, i am waiting after Isle of Man TT for some mods for cbr500r:lol:

looks like they started at

26.34 hp

30.75 after Nassert R Exhaust full system

34.33 after cams + exhaust

If I am reading that dyno correctly

Kind of hard to tell as it is not really a clear pic smile.png

But yes pretty good gain there

I am also curious to see what McGuinness does with the 500

engine for IOM

Clip on looks good too. Little space age though. Nothing for cbr500 for 3 months more:(

Yes Biker makes some nice things but I agree with you their clip-ons

are a little busy looking.

I Like the Mazirano clip-ons & they are inexpensive as a bonus 2300-2500 baht
