60 Days Visa

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

Can anyone tell me if I can get a 60 days visa in a one-way ticket from Denmark?

The airline will not let you board using a one way ticket, unless you have a visa issued by the embassy/consulate in your home country.

not really sure of your question, i think you mean a visa exempt entry, upon arrival in Thailand

You are probably seeking a tourist visa good for a 60 day stay. Of course that is available at the Thai embassy in Denmark.

With a tourist visa in your passport, you can likely be allowed to board the airplane in Denmark to Thailand on a one way ticket and also no problem entering Thailand.

HOWEVER, the embassy requires you have either a RT ticket or proof of travel outside Thailand to grant you the visa in the first place! For example an air ticket to Malaysia.

1 copy of round-trip ticket

- showing into and out of Thailand, or

- Evidence of travel from Thailand

You question begs another question. Why do you want to travel to Thailand on a one way ticket and a 60 day visa? What do you plan to do after the 60 days? Hopefully, something fun.

I just received a tourist visa from the Embassy in London and i didn't need to show proof of onward travel. Just passport, two photos, application form and the fee.

Yes but the question was about Denmark and the info I provided was for Danish passport holders in Denmark. Of course, it would be a good idea to ASK the embassy if the proof of travel is REALLY needed.

If you have only a one-way ticket into Thailand the AIRLINE may not allow you to board the flight to Thailand without one of two things:

1.An onward travel ticket (a ticket out of Thailand).

2.OR a Thai tourist visa.

As a Danish or EU national you are I believe eligable for a 30 day no visa required entry but to get that you are supposed to have a ticket out of Thailand at the end of that 30 days.

That is why the airlines may ask you to show them either #1 or #2 as stated above.

What I think you really mean is how to get a 60 day tourist visa for Thailand.

That visa will let you enter and stay in Thailand for 60 days when you enter Thailand.

You can get a 60 day single entry tourist visa at the Thai consulate in Copenhagen.

I believe the fee for that visa is about $40..U.S. dollars...but don't know what that is in Euro right now.

That visa can also be extended at your local Thai immigration office in Thailand...cost 1900 baht for that extension (about U.S. $60)

The website information for the Thai consulate is at

As said most will say a ticket is required but in fact for home country nationals this is seldom required, or just a proposed itinerary can be used (just too many people getting the visa early before spending the cash for a ticket (logical course of action).
