I often see member's who have connectivity problems and many times the solution is simply choosing a different DNS server. Below are two programs that will evaluate several DNS servers and will give you your best options based on your location, ISP and computer configuration. Hope you find them useful.

Nearly a year and a half ago and should have been archived which would auto lock the topic but seems to have gotten missed in the archiving process. Just assumed it was not available for posting anymore. Still, an up to date topic on it and the link you supplied is good for more details.
