There are still some undeveloped areas around. Make a few spots little parks. Lets' clean them up, patrol them a little bit. Just an outdoor spot to sit and read a newspaper, read a book. I know the merchants and tourism organizations tend to classify that as "dead" non-revenue earning space, but that is not really true. A city that has little parks increases its attraction. Heck if necessary, privatize the lot. Put some food vendors on the edge of the property, not all over the darn place and charge them some nominal fee to "park" on the land. I don't think any body makes much money off an empty un-developed lot. Shouldn't cost much to fix up and plant a few shade trees. Any interested financial developer out there? This kind of "greening" can go over big with local politics and make good headlines. Less CO2 More O2, cooler temps, help with carbon footprint, etc. Allow some night time walking in the place, hand holding with your girlfriend. Maybe a nice fountain there, a jogging path, or something along those likes like normal cities have. - A safe bicycle riding path that is not on the street. Could be in the park. - Wendy's - A safe and clean beach. Clean sand. Clean water. Safe. No sewage dumped into the water. No jet skis where people swim. - A non-broken sidewalk along the beach. The pavement in town and on Jomtien's new 2nd road and beach is falling apart and 2 km away where the jungle is taking over there is a squad of people laying a brand new section not anywhere near where any one walks..!!! I agree about a large public park like BKK's Lumpini. Clean Beach. Clean Sea. Clean rubbish free back Sois. No plastic bags, no rubber bands and no styrene boxes. There are some green areas in Pattaya- up on Pratumnak Hill there are some lovely shaded paths on the hill-side there in amongst the trees plus there's an outdoor gym and a track up there as well. I agree with you on the park at pratumnak hill, though the child's play area is falling apart, it's a real shame, as I enjoy taking my son and wife's brothers there. Jet skis with scratch resistant paint. Casinos only open to tourists. Not a gambler myself but these bring in huge amounts of revenue from the Chinese market. A symphony orchestra. Nah - don't think its that bad - ace for swimming when the tide is in, and great for cooling-off when the tides out. To those who miss that in Patts, you can go to the hill, there is a park on top, but it is a bit out of the way, it would of course be nicer to ave a couple right in the city. I would also very welcome a petrol station, two are needed, really. One north Pattaya, one south Pattaya. They should clean up of bikes and food carts the third lane of beach road between Pattaya Klang and WS, and make one lane where baht buses would be confined to. Stops only allowed to let people off or on. The plan to remodel the beach is also a good one, make BR 4 lane wide from Klang to WS, with proper sidewalks, space for parking cars, bikes and food carts. Pattaya Tai is also congested with traffic, no idea what can be done about that though. With traffic to Jomtien increasing, it could be a good idea to cut a proper road through from Pattaya Tai to Thepprasit... Casinos could be a good idea to bring more revenues in. The buses are a good idea for areas where the baht buses are not doing a very good job. I would suggest having buses constantly traveling the following routes: Bang Lamung hospital -> Na Kluea -> Dolphin Roundabout -> Pattaya Nua Bus Station -> Bangkok Hospital (and back) Na Kluea -> Road 3240 -> Wat Pong Dong Tan Beach -> Pu Pen Restaurant -> Soi Chayapruek up and down -> Dong Tan Beach Foodmart -> Thepprasit -> Tesco -> Khao Talo (up and down shuttle) Pratamnak Soi 6,5,4, -> Bali Hai -> Sai 3 -> Big C South Patts. Beach Road Pattaya Klang -> Petronas Pattaya Klang (Sukh) -> Nern Plerb Wan -> Nongprue Stadium Petronas Pattaya Klang -> Soi Siam Country Club until 7/11 on the lake near the CC gate ... I'd make foreigners pay 10 baht per ride, free for Thais Then, about a monorail/fast train from Bangkok: Good idea if the BKK side terminates in Northern or Western Bangkok, such as Nothaburi, Chatuchak or Don Muang, because eastern and southern BKK are easy enough to reach. The main advantage of the rail is to cut through BKK traffic jams. Cheap boats to Koh Larn that leave Bali Hai at a later time than now. I feel 14:00 is not too late.
