Six more students held over shooting death

BANGKOK: -- Police yesterday arrested six more Bangkok College of Technology students for allegedly taking part in the fatal shooting of a Chamni Technology School student in Samut Prakan's Muang district last Friday night.

Two suspects were identified as Thanakrit Khaosuwan and Nanthapop Houdcharoen, both 19.

The other two boys were aged 15-17. They join four suspects aged 16-20.

The Friday night brawl left Rapeepat Sudsamai, 16, dead and Jakkapan Thienthong, 16, seriously injured.

The six new students were nabbed along with four guns and three pen guns, one pickup truck and two motorcycles reportedly used in the attack.

They were among 30 BCT students who fought with Chamni Technology School students on Sukhumvit Road in Tambon Tai Ban.

Thanakrit reportedly drove the pickup for the other eight students when they ran into the rival group that was reportedly spray painting their college's symbol, so they opened fire at the group. Some 20 BCT students on motorbikes joined the melee, before burning the rival group's motorcycle.

Police booked them for murder, attempted murder, possessing arms and ammunition without a permit, carrying guns in public and destroying property.

Au contraire my friend, at least according to Buddhism, getting rid of the EGO is the most important step on the way to Enlightenment . Unfortunately, most Thais tend to forget that also.

Indeed, but they all claim to be Buddhists. I sometimes wonder how much they understand the teachings in their own religion if you see what's happening around here... they all look so devoted to their religion at the Buddhist ceremonies..

Not taking light of this sad and growing situation but teenage boys need to do the old one hand shuffle in their bathroom more often.

More importantly, Police PR department should be visiting each and every school and showing them the consequences of their actions (not wanking off, the shootings etc I mean).

You have a choice: a) act all tough with your mates and end up here (jail) for the next 20 years or

b. go play some football with your mates, eat ice cream, go to the movie etc

As per the SOP here, we will see photos blurred on the news of some teenage boys sitting in some police station after the fact. Some deterrent that is!
