I have a Tourist visa (not exempt) and wish to get a B visa for work permit.

How would I go about doing this the easiest?

Can one still translate a Tourist visa to a B visa in Bangkok, Chengwatana?

This is only done if you can immediately qualify for one year extension of stay so for many it is not an option. It is only done in that process - not as an independent issue of visa. You are aware that you do not need a B visa to apply for a work permit? You need a job and company paperwork - you then apply for a work permit and with company paperwork and work permit paperwork you normally then apply for the non immigrant B visa and once that is obtained the work permit can be actually issued.

Ok, that sounds really great if one could apply for a Work permit with a T-Visa, is there any documents I could reefer to, so I can explain this to the book-keeper that helps me in this matter...

Also, the company is newly created, and just employed two Thai persons, with two more Thai people coming in, think there is a rule that it's OK to apply for a work permit with two Thai persons during first year, or three months,.. would applying with Tourist Visa still be applicable?

Also what are the qualifications for the 1 year extension?

Am not sure of any document to explain but Labor will not issue the work permit unless you have a non immigrant entry allowing you to work is the basis. But the application can be made first (and actually is required in many cases as a Consulate will be looking for that receipt in order to issue the non immigrant B visa).

Extension of stay will likely not be available for new company as yearly tax records are required so for an extended period you will have to make 90 day border runs. Once the work permit for a year or more is obtained you should be able to obtain a multi entry visa valid for a year so only quick border crossing will be required every 90 days.
