Annual Retirement Extension Khon Kaen

Featured Replies

Completed my annual retirement extension at Khon Kaen immigration office last Wednesday 22nd. Arrived at 08:30 with TM 7 and TM 8 forms already filled out and I was in and out within 15 minutes (extension and multiple entry visa). Very helpful lady immigration officer, no new requirements or extra paper work asked for.

Thanks for the report but for reference you obtained a multi re-entry permit rather than a visa.

Good for you always good to hear the good job immigration is doing

Good news as my first extension is due for October.

Guess you showed 800k in the bank?

If so, did you obtain the bank letter on the same day?

Yes pass book showing 800,000 in the Bank for more than 3 months and the letter from the Bank was dated the day before,

I renewed my 1 year retirement extension last week in Khon Kaen.

The young lady at the reception desk informed me that my photo was too small. I believe that the form states the size should be 40 x 60 mm and yes, my photo was smaller, but always accepted in the past.

As luck would have it, they now offer a service, 5 low quality (oversized) photos for 100 Bt. rolleyes.gif

I had the 90 day report form filled in, but the officer told me that I didn't need to do it this time as I had renewed my extension.

The same excellent service in Chaeng Wattana last week with minimal paperwork.

That's a coincidence. laugh.png

Hope you get that same officer next time as a renewal of your Non-O extension doesn't count for a 90-day report.

But, if you got a new receipt clipped in to your passport with a new date for the 90-day report, you're probably OK. Did you get such? Hope so.

Only the first extension of stay counts as a 90 day report - was this your first extension? You say renewed indicating it was not and you would then require the normal TM.47 form to report address if office not doing something on there own.

It was a renewal, not my first extension of stay. I had visited the UK (with a re-entry permit), returning to Thailand at the end of May. At the time I had been in Thailand 88 days and was renewing my extension 2 weeks before it expired.

I had my extension of stay and 90 day reports filled in and ready. In KK office, you take a number from the machine, one for the extension and one for the 90 day.

My number for the extension was called first and the officer dealt with it very quickly and stapled in the next 90 day report due date.

So I went to do my 90 day with another officer at a different desk and he looked at the slip stapled into my passport and told me there was no need. I explained that I hadn't actually done my 90 day report yet and he just said no need. I could hardly insist that he accept and process the paperwork, could I? ermm.gif

Khon Kaen will usually process the 90 day report at the same time to get the 2 things in sinc

I want to apply for a re-entry permit in the near future, I currently have 1 year retirement extension.

Do Immigration require only one fully completed TM.8. ?

Thanks for any replies.

Don't forget the photo.

Yes

Plus copies of your passport photo page, permit to stay stamps, extension and TM6 departure card.

And the fee. Don't forget the fee.
