Royal Rain application to be launched

BANGKOK, 27 August 2012 (NNT) - The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives has announced that it is launching a new smartphone application called Phon Luang or Royal Rain, in commemoration of His Majesty’s Royal Rainmaking project.

The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Supatra Thanaseniwat said that its Information and Communication Technology Center had worked in collaboration with the Royal Rainmaking Bureau in developing the application.

The Royal Rain application displays temperature, humidity levels, wind directions and daily weather forecasts of provinces nationwide, which will be updated every 4 hours. The app also shows precipitation and rain amount on an hourly basis.

Detailed information on the history and operations of the Royal Rainmaking project will be featured. The application is available on both Android and Apple platforms. Members of the public can download the application for free at www.moac.go.th.
