Racing On Bira Sept 8 & 9 And 14,15, 16

Featured Replies

For those interested, Nitto3K racing series will be racing on Bira in the weekend of 8 & 9 september. N3k brings a multitude of series, from club racers to serious quick cars and everything in between.

The weekend after this will see SUPERCAR THAILAND take to the Bira track for round 3 & 4 after round 1 & 2 were held in Malaysia on Sepang. Supercar Thailand has an interesting line up this year with various new cars like the Toyota FT86 with V8, Lamborghini from Unity, Ferrari, Ford Falcon Super V8's, B-Quik's new 911 and so forth.

See you at the track.....

Never been to Bira so just asking is there any where you could park a pick-up and sit there with a few friends, watch the racing and have a bottle of champers and some caviar on toast few cans and a couple of pork pies etc

One day l will get there. smile.pngthumbsup.gif

You can't as the parking is behind the grandstands. Best bet is to go over the bridge to the section in the middle of the track, find a nice piece of grass with a good view, and have your picnic there. Just don't talk to the security guy on the bridge, he will only stop unaccompanied Thais. You can also have a walk up the pit lane from here.

Note the 14th will be a practice/qualifying day so not very exciting for spectators.

You can drive to the first L/H bend bumpy and narrow between a couple of power poles so only a few do it or know, just go past the left hand side of the grandstand and turn left between the old uncovered stands and the circuit past the pedestrian bridge.

Good luck Hak, have fun....

what does it cost to go to the races ?

thanks

BK

I will be there...

If there is some one on the gate then entrance fee to take your car inside is cheap... Usually there is no one there... Canny remember how much exactly, as i haven't paid for a long time.

entrace is free, Nitto3K is very relaxed, you can just walk the pit and paddock. Supercar is a bit more controlled, but have pitwalk around lunchtime

The Supercar round at Bira on Sat was good. A bit of light rain but not enough to be a problem. Some close racing in the 1500cc class. The big cars looked good and the Lamborghini gave the leading Porsche some competition for a while. All in a good day and a bargain for the 50Baht entrance fee.

Funny, because the race I watched, the Lambo stalled on the line and was never in contention.

Agree it was a great day, if a little damp. We were actually doing a rain dance for a friend in an Impreza, who managed to get up from 12th to 4th due to the weather
