Hi!

I am seeking for a liitle help as I am up to install CCTV Survey System at home and I looking for some advise about a serious and reliable company in Chiang Mai . They sell them in many places but I would like to find a place that they can give some good advise of what to use and where I have to locate them. Any suggestion up to your experience?

When we lived in a house in a soi, we simply used the neighborhood CCTV system -- i.e. the laundry lady across the soi and the restaurant owner next door. They always told us about anyone who came around while we were gone -- i.e. DHL with a delivery, the trash lady looking for money, a friend driving a white Yaris, etc.

Much better than a camera and all we had to do to set up this system was to give them a Leo Yai and plants from our garden from time to time.

CCTV cameras are OK if fitted to an alarm system or you're permanently looking at a screen. If you are out (or in) and intruders wear headgear, they are about as useful as a fart in a fish factory.

CCT cameras 'can' be a very effective tool, but they are just that, a tool, and not a solution to a problem.

What is the problem that you are trying to solve using a camera? That's your first step.

Then...

Do you need a stationary camera pointed at a cash register that runs 24/7?

Do you need a pivoting camera that is motion sensored to turn on when there is movement in the area?

Do you need a camera that is human-monitored full time or one that can use a tape/memory system to record over a period of time?

Memory storage or over-write after a period of time?

Analog or digital?

Indoor or outdoor use?

Independent power supply or will your local power be sufficient?

Alarmed? Silent or Loud?

A camera just takes a picture. You have to deal with the rest of it.
