Burma’s government named three new deputy ministers on Wednesday as part of an ongoing cabinet reshuffle that began on Monday. Two former diplomats—Thant Zaw, previously Burma’s permanent representative to the United Nations, and Zin Yaw, who was ambassador to India—were both appointed deputy foreign minister, while Maung Maung Thein, the general-manager of Myanmar Insurance, was given the job of deputy finance minister. Further appointments are expected to be announced in the coming days, Zaw Htay, the director general of the President’s Office, told The Irrawaddy on Thursday.
