Road Conditions

Featured Replies

Why does it seem impossible for this country to provide a safe and decent road surface, I have driven up to Cha Am a few times in the last few months and I am surprised my cars suspension is still in one piece, huge holes and the most awful road surface I have ever experienced, is there a lack of funds or just a lack of knowledge on how to make roads, The roads on Phuket are mostly okay but leave the Island and they deteriorate rapidly, maybe it's time to buy a tank!!

You think you got problems look at the photo i have 34 kilometers of this just to get a beer.

The roads have no foundation, just compressed soil sad.png .

Low cost construction combined with a high water table and having to building on sand, I don't think they do too bad considering what they spend and what they have to work with.

But I thought people came here to get away from the trappings of western life? wink.png

I enjoy it with either the right hand or left hand wheels on the dirt at 150 and then the switch back , when the road becomes good again it's coffee1.gif time.biggrin.png

It's better here than Indonesia!

"MP's have to eat first"as the saying goes. There is just the thinnest of top crust on the road.

That is one of the reasons that got me to buy a SUV instead of a sedan or similar car. Went to Hua Hin last week-end, and the irregularities were absorbed at speed in stride.
