Easiest Way To Find Internet Coverage Areas For Landline?

I was looking at a condo to rent in Bangkok (A Space Condominum), and every thing seemed fine, but then I tried to find an ISP..

In the building they got brochures for True, so when I got back to Pattaya I tried to sign up for a deal for the BKK condo. But I was told I can only live in 3 floor or lower with True.. lol. And when she checked the map for coverage area, the condo area was pretty much blank. So no ADSL box. This place is about 4 km from BTS on nut, so this seems really weird. Is it possible that they have not updated their maps for some years? Why would they have brochures for True in the lobby if it is not possible to get an internet line there?

I also checked out an area in asoke-ratchada about 600 meters from MRT Rama 9, and the same blank spot appeared (same condo developer).

I have also contacted TOT and 3BB, but after calling the hot line and several other numbers I got nowhere. And they could not help me at their offices in Central Pattaya.

Is there any good Internet site with information about coverage areas in Bangkok?

Anyone here that lives in A space? Which Internet service provider are you using for ADSL?

If you know a Thai person maybe they could look through this forum for you?

http://www.prakard.c...?g=topics&f=189

Or maybe talk with the Thai owners renting the unit? Or talk with others living there?

My sense is that you should be able to get a dedicated fixed-line from either/both True and TOT, and DSL on top of that line. I have seen both TOT and True cabs all along Soi 77.

TRUE have this webpage to check coverage for ADSL. It is only in Thai but you'll figure it out. The left box is to check by phone number and the right by location.

http://support.truec.../checkType.html

In that area I think it is quite likely that you could get DOCSIS which offers much higher speed connections than ADSL.

From my experience with TRUE, some persistence is required to get the correct information. Try calling 2 or 3 times to see if you always get the same answer. Also perhaps, ask a Thai speaker to call on your behalf. Good Luck....

PS. TRUE can be difficult to deal with but TOT is much, much worse.

TrueOnline DOCSIS availability:

http://www.trueonlin...ang=en&param=12

On Nut : Soi 38-53, 48, 56, 58, 59-59/1

Maybe pretty close to A Space?

Check out "New Coverage Area".

Thanks a lot, and in other coverage area it says "A Space On-Nut Tower C, D, E, F, G", but the area has no cables on the map I was saw in the True store in pattaya.

I looked twice, missed A Space, sorry.

Maybe too new for the maps you saw in Pattaya?

Better to talk to some Thai people who live there, or get a Thai person to read/post on prakard.
