September 4, 201214 yr Can the old Dreambox be reprogramed and used for the reception of other satellite tv program transmissions like in the box itself rather than just repositioning the dish? G
September 4, 201214 yr Author no i had to get a new dreambox Do you mean you bought some other type of box. I don't understand that if the dreambox is of no value why by another, unless you mean it tongue-in-cheek. Remember you are talking to a caveman here,,,, maybe a little before caveman days...
September 4, 201214 yr Yes, the you can add other satellites and LNBs and get FTA channels from elsewhere. Or you can use it with legal cards to get encrypted channels. It might be a programmable satellite receiver, but at the end of the day it's still a satellite receiver.

September 5, 201214 yr There should be no need to "reprogramme" the Dream Box. It is already programmed for many satellites Just point the dish at a new satellite, tell the box what satellite it is and Search. You will only see FTA channels, unless you have a card for the services.

It depends how it was configured before; you might need to install new CAM software if you want to use a legal card, for example. And even if the Satellite list is up to date, you would probably still want to re-scan the channels. Edited September 5, 201214 yr by Chicog
