18 years - keep thinking about leaving but every year a new crop comes down from the farms and I hang around thinking "ahh one more year then" lol

How long have you guys been here and could a westerner really be that patient to spend the rest of his or her days here?

1 year. But before that I've sort came and went back at least 20 times. I felt very comfortable when I made the decision to settle down here, because I had the social network, good living etc

came here in 1995 with 60,000baht thought lets see how long i can stay on that ,been home once in 98 for 1 week ,the 60,000 has nowgone but still here cant ever see myself leaving ,

Been here two and a half years, quite happy at the moment, I live about half way between Bangkok and Phuket, the people are friendly and hospitable so its all good.

coming up on 4 years, if i left here i wouldnt go back to the west, maybe Japan or Korea....
