I've been in Thailand for four months, happily living in Chiang Mai on a retirement extension, but do miss the ocean or a large body of water. Am thinking of exploring the Pranburi area with possibility of settling there in the future. Would appreciate recommendations of economical places to stay while I'm looking around. A swimming pool isn't necessary but would like a clean, quiet, and secure hotel/bb.

Will probably travel by train within the next few weeks. Is Pranburi a flood area?

1. Pranburi isn't a flood area now.

2. Try to find something at the Pranburi Beach area. There are a lot of guest houses and hotels and most of them seem to be empty at the moment.

Thanks for the reply. Any specific guest houses to recommend? I'm considering the Cha Am area also.
