Thaivisa Opens Very Slow And Most Annoying Site Now

Gone

Recommended Posts

I am running a Macbook Pro and have Truehome 10g service and I open all of the sites in my bookmarks and they are just normal except for this site which opens VERY slow maybe 80% of the time.

I used to enjoy having my morning coffee and reading this site and the local news etc. but sometimes now it takes so long for this site to load that I just go to another web page.

I know it can't be only me because like I say, all other sites open quickly.

Does anyone know why this is?

I have a MBP and only a 7mb connection and TV is no problem at all. Do you run any maintenance software on a regular basis to clear out a lot of past histories, cookies, repair permissions etc? I would recommend that you get something like Onyx (free) (http://www.macupdate.../mac/11582/onyx) and run it once a week or so. Make sure you get the version that is compatible with the OS you are running.

I also run MacCleanse (http://www.koingosw..../maccleanse.php) which cleans out garbage once a week. It is a paid app.

If you don't want to run either of the above make sure that you always run Repair Permissions (Utilities/Disc Utility) after you install any software and restart you MBP once a week or so. Hope this helps.

It opens as fast as always with my Core i7 / 8 Gig Ram Toshiba & 12MB BBB Adsl account. I am using Chrome on Windows 7. I have heard from friends with Apple products, that they resolved similar problem by -re-installing their browser or using another browser. Try a couple of different WIFI hotspots, compare with another laptop and you should know if the problem is with your notebook. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply and help. I did install a couple of different cleaners a few weeks ago but didn't like that they cleared all of my password etc. I know I should open it again and try configuring how and what it cleans and I will do so now. I will also try "Onyx" and see how that works.

Just strange that all other sites open except this one. I mean it opens slow quite often.

Change your DNS to OpenDNS or Google DNS and you will notice a remarkable speed-up.

This is the most common problem on True.

Thank you also but I'm not quite understanding where to change this on my Mac? I will Google "Change DNS on Mac" and see if that tells me anything. Thanks again

Ok I just went into how to change your DNS but there is no "OpenDNS" option on my Mac. I'm really not sure what you are talking about? Here is a link to the explanation I used and on the screen shots I see nothing like "OpenDNS" Maybe you can check it out and try to explain to me what you mean and how this will speed up my computer please?

I have been asking for a plain html version for a while. This heavily scripted page is too heavy for mobile connections

The mobile version should show up automatically. What mobile do you have and what browser and version?

Sent from my GT-N7000 using Thaivisa Connect App

Nokia N900 with default mozilla based browser.

What's the url for the mobile version? I have never found that :)

Thanks George !! I mean that sincerely, that "change the DNS" you spoke of not only works but is amazing, I cant believe the difference in the speed of page loading. It really is like moving from a tractor to a Porsche ! unreal, thanks again.
