You guys just do not understand Thainess

Does the definition include anything along the lines of "able to steal taxpayers' money with no shame, guilt, or fear of consequences"?

A good point, it certainly appears to be without fear of consequence!

I am shocked. First time i have ever heard of any politicians from ANY country going off on an all expense paid JUNKET. You mean that Thai Politicians do it as well?

The crime only occurs when they get caught.

Like I said earlier, he should be watching Everton at least as Chang are associated with them, this would help promote Thailand. Whilst looking at places to visit for Thai people going to Europe, he should also be doing his best to promote Thai businesses.

Another example of how PTP see how a Democracy should work.

And it will continue, as nobody cares about the good of Thailand.

Btw, how long does it take to "gather data about British state of affairs as well as the country's press, city and parliament"?

Well I'm impressed by their apparent ability to assimilate data about alien concepts in such a brief trip

I am shocked and amazed that we have 37 posts and not one PTP apologist singing the same old song "but....but....but Abhisit, Suthep, the democrats.........."

No baiting involved Sir. Just strange no one is defending their heros.

In the parallel thread, the diversionary tactics are underway

Somsak's trip 'paid for by leftover cash'

The Nation

The MP (Pheu Thai party-list MP Korkaew Pikulthong) also said that every House official's visit overseas should be investigated, adding that he would like to know whether Democrat party-list MP Boonyod Sooktinthai had gone overseas during his time in office, and had taken House officials with him. Boonyod had said earlier that his committee, tasked to look into House affairs, would investigate Somsak's trip.

He avoided questions about the funds used for this trip but admitted that it was a mistake and he would make sure it is not repeated.

An honest mistake

By a crooked politician.

I think he's only doing it because he can get away with it. People think he should be morally up right or helpful, but I think the only way to stop him from cheating is to stop him. it doesn't look like there's any self control. I'll wait for him in the parking lot, but I need a bit of help.

That's exactly the problem.

It doesn't matter if the actions of politicians are right or wrong, legal or illegal, there isn't the will to do anything about it.

In the West his butt would be well and truly kicked.

Here, nothing will happen.

His only real crime is that he got caught

Small point to pick at in the original article, but if he and his cronies went to Anfield to watch Liverpool v Manchester United the next day (Saturday) they would have come away disappointed as the game was on Sunday. Perhaps the second game they had planned to see on the Sunday was Swansea against Everton, which was on Saturday lunch-time ... oops!! clap2.gif

Oxford and the Imperial War Museum in the same day? Total <deleted>. Travelling time to Oxford and back from London would be in the order of 4 hours. I have made at least a dozen all day trips to the Imperial War Museum and still have not seen more than half the stuff they have in there. I do hope this crook and his party were shown evidence of Thailand's glorious record of heroism in their fight for right and freedom during WWII.

I note that they watched Liverpool vs Man Utd. and didn't go anywhere near Man City. I wonder why that was? No red carpet perhaps? Memories about another Thai notable still linger about the place like a bad smell?
