SamSipEt Posted September 21, 2012 Share Posted September 21, 2012 (edited) Lots of agencies in town advertise the trip but a lot of the boats are somewhat uncomfortable with only wooden seats. Like most things in life you get what you pay for and if you search around you can find mid range options like the Nagi of Mekong and up market ones like http://www.luangsay.com Bus to Chiang Rai and then another to Chang Khlong gets you to the start or you could fly to Luang Prabang and travel back up stream on the boat which is less popular and hence there should be fewer people on the boat. Low season at the moment so not all boats sail as advertised and you might be able to haggle a late booking discount.
