Drinking Water In Bangkok

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I was wondering, that for long term residents of Bangkok, what does one do for drinking water, mineral water bottles?

Or like in Hong Kong or Singapore, can one use a water purifier that's attached to the kitchen tap, is the tap water good enough for that?

Thank you!

I've been using a purifier connecting the kitchen's tap and for many years now and I can say I haven't gotten sick or anything from it. It's safe if you are going with a purifier, but make sure you are using a decent purifier though, just for good measures.

I also use a purifier that I bought at Big C. The woman and I have never had a problem. The water tastes clean.

Lots of water purifier these days even those with the UV filter and stuffs.

I have a reverse osmosis unit with filters, the water looks and tastes fine. Or you could go with a non-reverse osmosis unit but make sure it has a UV filter as well.

Just stay away from anything that is made by Fujika, i have had way too many problems with that company's products.

Thanks so much for the help everyone, much appreciated!

1) So I should go in for a reverse osmosis unit with UV filters, is that combination the best?

2) What's the cost in Thai Baht for a good quality unit?

Thanks you again!

Mine cost around 10k. Pure - classic UV. It is sold in the mall, home pro, etc.

They call us yearly to change the filters n stuff.

Years ago, if you drank the BKK water, you'de get Ho Chi Minh's revenge within 24-hours. Now BKK water is as safe as Los Angeles juice..
