chinnotes
I think it belongs to the day flying moths, family Zygaenidae. If you allow me to post your photo in a Thai forum specializing in insects of Thailand its name could be possibly found. - But to do this I need to know in which province you found it. Thank you, Erwin

chinnotes
Well, it is now sure, that this is a member of the Zygaenidae family (day flying moths) as I had suggested in my previous post. But Pisuth Ek-Amnuei, who has just written a thick book on butterflies of Thailand says that he has never seen this one. He thinks it's new for Thailand! When next time I will go to the British Museum in London, I try to check their collecion of Zygaenidae. But this will not happen very soon, as next week I will go for Indonesia for some time.. As soon as I know more I will post here again. Erwin
