Selling A Condo

Featured Replies

I am trying to sell my condo in BKK. When I am finally able to sell it and the money is put into my Bangkok Bank account, can I just transfer the money easily out of the country to the U.S. as I normally would or is there special procedures to go through and a bunch of red tape?

Any help is much appreciated. :o

Hi Trips,

To purchase the Condo in the first place you will have had to prove that the money to buy it came from overseas.

If you have saved all the relevant paperwork from the purchase I see no reason why the funds cannot be repatriated back home.

However there may be a problem with the "Difference" between what you paid for it and what you sell it for, ie if you make 400,000 baht on it then that may have to stay here.

I am not absolutley certain about this and maybee somebody who has actually done it would know more.

It may be worth re-posting in a different forum for a better response to your question.

Cheers :o

You can take out any funds which have been issued a Tor Tor 3, so keep

photocopies of these.

Regarding any potential profits, well you could probably draw down on these by

using your Thai Visa/MC overseas. If all else fails ... buy a bunch of gold :o

Naka.
