Electricity Usage - Calculation

Recommended Posts

For a 2,400 watts Electric Deep Fryer, operating at 8 hours a day, how much would it cost per month for electricity usage (assuming electricity rate at 5 baht per unit)?

How to do the calculation?

((8 x 2400 x 30)/1000) * 5 = 2880 Baht / month

The divide by 1000 converts from watts to kilowatts.

This is an absolute maximum but could be half that as the deep fryer will cycle on and off to maintain temperature so perhaps half that cost or 1440 Baht/month.

Thanks Tywais :)

Then I suppose using gas would be cheaper...but the problem with gas fryer is not able to maintain the same temperature throughout the day.

and how much does it cost for the cooking oil? I hope you are going to be changing regularly, and thats where I see a big cost, not the lekky.

Never heard of "lekky" so I did a google search and this was what turned up:

1. Retarded word used by arrogant colonial cocksuckers, probably in reference to electricity, who knows?

Any comments?

OK, I was confused with the kk, thought it was some Finnish slang I never heard of. Thanks for clearing that up. smile.png
