Mega Project Implementation: Management Committee Organised

TRANSPORT MINISTER TO DESIGNATE COMMITTEE TO TAKE CARE OF THE GOVERNMENT'S MEGA-PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION

The Ministry of Transport will organize a meeting tomorrow to set up a committee to manage and administer the government’s mega-projects, especially the 10 electric rail-based transportation routes.

Transport Minister PONGSAK RAKTAPONGPAISAL (พงษ์ศักดิ์ รักตพงศ์ไพศาล) disclosed that he will call in concerned agencies to evaluate the “Thailand Alliance” meeting, which was held at the Government House on January 26th. This purpose of this meeting was to consider the proposals of the construction of 10 BTS routes.

He said that the committee will be designated to negotiate with the bidders who have submitted their proposals. The government has set April 28th as the final day for bidders to submit their proposals to the officials for consideration.

Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, the chief of this committee, will be person who will select the company that will be in charge of this construction. The selection may take place in the end of this July.
